Whenever i write a new post, my blog (http://www.techeguide.com) gets top 10 ranking for some good keywords. My analytics/webmaster report data shows that, for a particular keyword, my blog gets 1 rank, and also had gains some visits, but my blog remains there for few minutes only. After that it even don't rank on top 20 pages. Why this happens? Anyone having idea? Thanks Mohit
Search engines like Google and Yahoo always hungry for fresh contents, such as news. Nowadays, they have considered blogs as some kind of news.
The results in google is changing every minute and you can access different datacenter with different results. That's why you can see inconsistency on the analytics report.
Google treats all site equally. Is your blog new? If yes, then this behavior is normal. Google rank content from new sites up in SERP for little time, after that, it disappears in SERPs. To get a stable and high ranking, you will need relative backlinks.
SERP update frequently, the blog/website better in SEO will go up, and those not doing good will go down
This is a called BLOGGING. Always write new post in your blog with in a half an hr. you can continue getting ranking in search engines. Search engines always hungry for fresh contents that's why this is a good methods to get some ranking and traffics.
There is a difference in ranking when you search for a keyword or phrase signing and without signing into google account. Sometimes rating a search result by surfers can also affect the rankings. It's common for blogs to move up and down as different bloggers will be updating their blogs.
Since blogs are seen as "Fresh Content" they tend to get good ranking right off the bat, however if your content is not up to part its easy to watch it slip away in terms of where it stands.
I believe it is common to have a quick jump when posting something new.. However, if you don't do back-end work and build the number of backlinks to your site, this slight jump won't do much for you in regard to a consistent increase in organic traffic.
I am sorry I never heard something like that before. How can you be sure it stays there for a few minutes. Webmasters takes days to update.
Fresh sites and content are always given a boost for a while and then get pushed down until they eventually stabilize. Some of my keywords get top 3-4 for the first week and then seem to just get buried. After some relative link building your posts should start moving up the ranks.
I guess Google keeps an optimistic view of new sites and awards them better ranks. When they don't fare so well, down you go, never to come up again. I mean, difficult to come up again.
this is normal. New content gets ranking boost but this is temporary. Could be a few minutes, days or couple weeks. Then you become old and get put back to your natural ranking.
