How google treat facebook?

I would like to know how google treat facebook links for search engine ranking.
Is it much helpful for anyone doing SEO on facebook or not.

I have seen that Google ranks most official facebook fan pages in search results. Also the profile links.

 

Difinitely a good idea to do Facebook marketing - also in regards to search engine rankings... No doubt!

 

I think that Facebook likes, matters when it comes to Google's Search Engine rankings. I'm just not that sure about it.

Hi I have recently read some articles about doing some SEO on Facebook. When you write the description and title in your Fan Page you need to use some of your keywords just as you are doing with the SEO meta tags in your website. Google treat Facebook same as other social networking sites because Google check link quality not Specific domain name.

 

You can rank for trends with pages as well. I've seen some pages rank for long tail keywords that would be trends.

And before you start commenting "oh you can control on G+ what you see just select a circle..." I know I can. Point is "I" CAN and you CAN. What about those who can not? There is a majority of those kind in the world. It takes an extra action on user's part which doesn't on FB. That's my argument.
