To create your shortened URL, all you have to do is giving Gplus your Google+ profile ID, it will generate an URL in the format gplus.to/yourusername. You can set whatever name you want as long as it is still available. Here is my custom URL:

If you don’t want to wait for a simpler to communicate address for your Google Plus profile try setting up a 301 redirect on your own domain name. The easiest way to do this is to place the following line in your .htaccess file, replacing the profile url with your own:

Google has announced that Google+ users will eventually be able to create a vanity or custom URL for their Google+ profile, enabling them to personalize their URLs.

To make your custom URL, login to your Google+ account, then click on your name. Next is copy the long string of numbers in the URL (which is your Google+ userID), then go to gplus.to. From there, select a short name, then enter your Google+ userID and click on . That’s it.
