Does anyone know if it is true that the only way google knows your bounce rate is through google analytics.

Google Analytics will only be able to determine a website's bounce rate if it has the Google Analytics tracking code, AND they will be able to detect it from anywhere and NOT just from their own search engine.

Google gets the bounce rate by Google Analytics code, which code we placed on our web-site or web-page.

Well, Google detects all those stuff from their snippet placed in web page. It collects all those valuable information for the webmaster to latter help him to get clear picture of website performance in Google and other major search engine.
