Well they don't serve ads on each blog, but they could if they wanted. They use it for branding and for getting new accounts. When you sign up for a blogger account, you create a google account. Blogger helps drive bloggers to other Google products, like gmail (where they can serve up ads on all accounts in each individual email).
i wondered this. its just brand name and image at the end of the day. the google brand gets stuck in your mind ever further.
Blogger encourages the use of adsense with starting bloggers. They can grow out to big webmasters and earn lots of money (through adsense, so it also goes to google).
perhaps, but how do you know google wont send out a newsletter to bloggers tomorrow with their logo on it "blogger - part of the google family". or perhaps they wont, people may think they are starting to own the internet
Google blog search. I don't see it as an Adsense lure, since Adsense will work with any blog. They do make it easy to integrate some Google services in Blogs via the Layout control panel.
Google Needed content...that's why they bought blogger to maintain the balance between available content to display adsense and publishers lined up to show there ads.
Blogger has the option to serve Adsense ads by default. I assume they get a lot of people to sign up that way.
Google monetize Blogger in indirect way. They let users sign-up for a Blogger account and encourage them to use Google Adsense. Once a newbie user who used Blogger get familiarized with Adsense, that certain user can now generate more income from Adsense. The more earnings of the user in Adsense, the more Google earn through Adwords, isn't it? That way, Blogger is just a starting point for users who would like to earn income from Adsense. And the more Adsense publishers are there, the more the earnings of Google in Adwords.
I couldn't agree more with CMSTheme. Google business is online advertising. All the applications they develop are just a means to increase the number of potential advertising locations, and consequently generate more Adwords revenue.
they do....I think when you sign up for a blogger account you have the option ot apply for adsense at the same time
sure they can can money somehow by advertising or something. main function of blogger is the alternative services from google. so it's some kind of building brad recognition.
