how Google buys sites?

    Hi

I have a new site that is a groundbreaking social network which is nothing like what is out there at the moment. The idea is simple, but no-one has thought of it yet strangely.

The problem is that I don't have the time to code the entire thing from scratch. It's taking forever. I know if I did get it done it would be so popular that my hosting wouldn't manage it, and then there would be maintenance issues etc.

So the question I have is, if anyone knows, did other groundbreaking sites i.e. Feedburner, YouTube etc. all become very popular first and Google approached them to purchase these sites -- or were they purchased before they had a chance to become this popular? Do you need to approach Google if you think they would definantly find your site conducive to their business? This idea can make $1 million a month easily but it's too hard for me to code it all myself - any way I can sell the actual 'framework' without leaving it open to being stolen?

    Thanks!
