I have tried YAhoo answers and posted over 100 answers with linkback to my site in source box but it don't bring in good results, no traffic or negligible traffic.
One of my first outsourcing jobs online was to do yahoo answer posting for a client. I have found for him and also with my company now it provides good backlinks.
Yahoo answers is good, but you have to be careful. They WILL ban you. Be sure to post answers in all sorts of categories and post a lot of answers without links. Be a contributer and even if they ban you, you can make a good case for your account to be reinstated.
You would be spending more time on Yahoo answers that way. Also, you need to think whether the link you are giving is appropriate to the context of the question and you have to find questions that relate to your niche or subject area, do some research etc. This type of thing is best outsourced.
You know that isn't a bad idea. I'd have never thought of using Yahoo Answers to drive traffic. (But then again... I don't think a lot on spam.) If you just put up your website with no content it could be disastrous to your traffic.
Doing this the wrong way can get your account banned. If you ask a question ( and plan to answer it with another account) WAIT for about 2 days and then answer your question. Be sure to use your keyword phrase in your answer as well. You may also want to buddy up with a friend. Write a keyword rich question and give it to a friend to ask. Track the question down and answer it yourself. Also, when you ask/answer questions, fill out your profile. Make an avatar or pic. Only post a self-serving link once maybe twice a day. Don't over do it. It also helps if you are in a niche that is more low key and there isn't a lot of competition. My very first sale came from Yahoo Answers. I love it. The only thing you have to remember is that it is nofollow. So in Google's eyes, it doesn't give you back links. But you can still get traffic directly from YA, if you optimize it correctly.
When I used Yahoo answers they banned my account within a couple of hours. There were people asking how to make money online and I told them about a website (my website) which helps people make money. I got a couple hundred hits within a hour, but they banned me after a couple hours. Personally I thought the link I gave helped, but the admin didn't. If you want to use this format to market I highly suggest you create a dummy account so if you get banned you don't lose anything.
Also don't forget to actually be a valuable member of the community. Be sure to answer lots of questions that do not relate your site. That way when you do get banned (which will mostly likely happen) you can get it appealed by pointing out all of your other posts.
I think Yahoo! Answers is good for traffic, but you have to contribute quality responses on a regular basis. Make sure your responses are adding value, and don't do it just to build backlinks and spam people with shameless advertising.
okay..not a very bad suggestion from your friend. And it will most probably give you some extra traffic, but you are liable to get banned soon. So yeah...you could give ita try, make anew account on yahoo, and do it .
Think about it. Genuine question askers are only looking for answers to their problem. If you give a really useful and relevant answer they've got what they want. They'll just take it on board and go away - no need to click on any links for further information.
I get around 1800UV per month across my network from it. When you answer the questions you don't just say "oh, go here www.*******> You have to answer the question in a paragraph and use your link and a source and it MUST be related.
We all have a particular way to traffic - some do it better than others. Give it a go and see what the results are. If it works for you then winner!
I have people post to drive traffic for me... Every now and then you'll get lucky and one single post will get ranked really well... Those posts bring in A LOT of traffic! James
It is helpful at some points in browsing the net for information and answer but too many people have spammed it like crazy and its sometimes hard to find what your looking for. So its gone downhill i think.
This is true. I'm fortunate enough to be able to answer a lot of girl questions about clothes, handbags, etc and add my link in the answer which creates a lot of traffic but the conversion from this traffic is minimal. A lot of work for so little.
