of course but sometimes it becomes just disgusting when Google ban other sites. i really feel sad for those people
well, I guess for a search engine, they are pretty ok. But they are currently showing their dark side when they feel threatened by FB.
IF THE ultimate measure of impact is to have one's name become a new verb in the world's main languages, Google has reason to be proud. When they founded the company five years ago, Sergey Brin and Larry Page, friends at Stanford University, chose a word play on “googolâ€â€”the number 1 followed by 100 zeros—because their ambition was to organise the information overload of the internet in a transparent and superior way. These days, singles “google†suitors before agreeing to a date, housewives “google†recipes before cooking, and patients “google†their ailments before visiting doctors. Dave Gorman, a comedian, even has a popular show, the “Googlewhack Adventureâ€â€”a Googlewhack being what happens when two words are entered into Google and it comes back with exactly one match.
Its very interesting... Now, Google has become a part of everyone's life. But I hate You Tube results at the top of SERPs.
Interesting side effect of this thread. The link was kind of funny but surprising and interesting at the same time. However, none of the posts above seem to show anyone had bothered to look at the link! Which tells me LOTS about the posters on DP. (Actually, it doesn't tell me anything I don't already know.)
the youtube video was on the top because if you search it in the description is is written "the hipster song with the whistling" so google just catched the description
Google is now more than a business: it is a cultural phenomenon. But where will it be in a few years? IF THE ultimate measure of impact is to have one's name become a new verb in the world's main languages, Google has reason to be proud.
