In just a few seconds, I can get a deep link to any page I want. I can choose the anchor text and it matches the <title> tag on the page granting the link.
Since Digg is a Pr8 page, spiders will find that link quickly and they do follow.

I have a domain that isn't indexed yet but with just the one digg story I submitted I expect the search engines will be showing the domain tomorrow when I wake up. More indexed pages on keyword rich domains = more links I can use for my sites later.

Usually since I write more than I market, one dig on a story will give it a huge jump in long tail searches compared just to the internal linking structure of my site.
