I have a website which is based on India travels...the website is coming in google.com but i need that it should be come in google.co.uk, google.fr, google.de, and other countries... so how i can do this...can we need to book domains for different countries, else made subdomain's for each country... is it mandatory to mention each country address and phone number on the website... suggest me what's the best processor for getting ranking on other countries server of google...
You need to have a set up of one of the following: country specific TLDs: widgets.co.uk, widgets.fr, widgets.de etc and set the target countries up in Google Webmaster Tools (Set the Geographic Target under Site Configuration>Settings) country specific subdomains: uk.widgets.com, fr.widgets.com, de.widgets.com and set the target countries up in Google Webmaster Tools (Set the Geographic Target under Site Configuration>Settings) I set this up for a major bluechip corporation across 29 European territories and achieved great results.
Expertise in specific markets and geographies. If an SEO creates deceptive or misleading content on your behalf, such as doorway pages or "throwaway" domains, your site could be removed entirely from Google's index. Avoid SEOs that talk about the power of "free-for-all" links, link popularity schemes, or submitting your site to thousands of search engines. These are typically useless exercises that don't affect your ranking in the results of the major search engines -- at least, not in a way you would likely consider to be positive.
This is very useful advice, thanks. I am also looking into getting traffic from specific countries. I'll definitely try that tip in the Google configuration, I didn't know about that. I have registered widget.co.uk, and widget.es, as the 2 countries I am targetting are visitors from UK and (English speakers in) Spain. Andy, how does duplicate content fit into this scheme? Presumably, the content still all needs to be unique? Or is it possible to tell Google.es not to index the .co.uk content, and Google.co.uk not to index/follow the .es content? Then, could you have exactly the same content on both sites? Also, did you set up the country specific TDSs on local servers? If so, did it make much of a difference? My main competition has his .es domain hosted on a UK server, and he seems to do OK. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer
You can create sub domain of your main domain and hosted on different different countrys server then try to get link from local diretory for that country and use other methods also for promotions....
By promoting your websites in that particular country specific Classified, Article sites, Press release, forum posting and all.
Yea.. you just need create a site with hosting of other country and make promotion to country target, and it can little help you
my advice is to get a couple of quality strong backlinks from websites within those specific countries
Your site may be ranked in google.fr, google.de, google. es, and similarly in other local google search engines provided that: FIRST CASE : MULTILINGUAL SITE 1. Your site content has a version in the relevant languages (French for google.fr, German for google.de, and so on). If your site is just in one language and you do not want to translate it, getting more backlinks is the only option. 2. your multi-country site content should be located in the relevant country. It can be done in 2 different ways: Either you use country TLD e.g. mydomain.fr for French, mydomain.de for German, and so on Or you use a generic (international) domain such .com, .net, .info,... with subdomains (fr.mydomain.com, de.mydomain.com, and so on) or sub-directory (mydomain.com/fr/, mydomain.com/de/and so on ) for each country. Then set each sub-domain or sub-directory in the relevant country as geographic target in google webmaster. This is not complulsory, but it helps quite a lot. 3. get backlinks to each sub-domain or sub-directory from each corresponding country. SECOND CASE: ONE-LANGUAGE SITE With regards to countries with the same language (e.g. USA and UK) , there are 2 cases: Either you may have unique content for each of those countries, then proceed as above-mentioned. Or your site has the same content for both countries, then don't proceed as above stated (duplicate content). You have no choice but getting more backlinks fom both countries Very useful links: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2008/08/how-to-start-multilingual-site.html http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2010/03/working-with-multi-regional-websites.html http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=62399
