How get Googlebot to come to your site instantly

I a newb and I didn't see anything relating to this before. So I don't know if this is really basic stuff I'm posting.

Originally, I didn't have googlebot coming to my site. I signed up for DMOZ and submitted it to yahoo and google but nothing really happened. At one point, my site appeared in Google but it was still not being crawled. Then I decided to sign up for Google Adsense. I applied it for my site and next day Googlebot came and started crawling my site. My ranking went up a little bit and the meta data gets updated.

The AdSense Googlebot does not put the pages into the search index though.

Those are nice and shiny words, but I found my sites showing up in the index much faster when there are adsense ads installed on them.

For google, there is no meaning whether page extension is php or asp or html. And anyway, your webserver will be sending html code only to any request. So all are same.

I have noticed page rank going up from using adwords. Once the ad is stopped the back links are gone but I'm not sure if the page rank goes down then too.

livingwithadd, I don't believe what you are saying. Pagerank and pages being indexed by the googlebot are not related to Adwords. Adwords is just a advertising campaign in google, these ads won't give you backlinks.
Get links in various ways and your site will be indexed in about 3/4 weeks.

To me this all seems really Lame, I myself don't won't to add there advertising to my site. I don't really think that is fair of them to give people a better rank on there site just because they place a advertisement for Goggle on there site. Just wondering why, they would do something like that? They trying to force people to link to them to so they can keep there #1 ranking?

It is not true, what you are thinking. Their ads don't affect rankings at all. Their ads are javascript, which are not picked up by the indexing bots.

I noticed it with one of my sites that went up to a 4 and had bunch of back links through adwords. I stopped the adword campaign and just about all of the back links disappeared but it still stayed at a 4. These were ads on content page like about.com

This could have been a freak coincidence but it was something I that happened with a new site. My site that has been up since 99 is a 5 and it's been in google adwords for a few months and I have I haven't noticed any huge change in back links and as far as I know it's still a 5.

This thread is turning into one of those foundationless conspiracy theories which pop up often so I would like to add my absolutely untrue additions:
if you run adsense, you don't rank as highly in yahoo! as you might want to, and shockingly, google's spiders eat silicon

What impact would links in forum posts have on a site's page rank?

Within days of my first post on this board, a business associate was looking to see if we had finished the buildout on the first "acesori" store, typed in "acesori" in Google and found a link from one of the websites. He also asked me "who" is nikko952"? My profile, which had the url of a new website, had shown up in the search. I'm not so sure about this .... I think he thought this was sort of strange ....... I've posted on lots of forums before and never had this show up.

    Hello!
I have noticed that if google visits your website then all pages starts to appear in index after few days. However, I have got my website fully crawled by google bot a month ago, but it still isn't in the index. How often the database is being updated? When can I expect my website to be listed by google? Thanks
