Submit every 30 days until they get tired of your submissions and give you one. No really, submit every 40 days but make sure in the meantime that your site is unique, high quality and not some regurgitated garbage that everyone else has.
30 days... that's all? You should of advised him to submit at least twice per day to make sure he get blacklisted after 3 days to end to his misery once and for all. LOL Jim, you mean celebrate them? fastreplies
Jim, Are you one of the approval people for DMOZ? That is what I read, that you should resubmit monthly. Let me clarify myself here. If a person has a website that has been completely static then they need to work on their site before submitting it again to DMOZ. FYI - DMOZ is approved by a living breathing human being. They have a standard and you can't create software to try and trick them. So you need to improve your site, making sure you have good, unique and helpful content.
keep submiting your site to dmoz ... it takes time to approve but it will approve surely for some secrets visit DIRECTORY SECRETS
because PR is about as important as a link from the ODP. Submit once & forget about it. They will list you or they wont, end of story... but breaking their rules and not being an editor is a sure way to NOT get a link (and possibly a good way to get any other links you have removed). Read the add page, and pay close attention to the parts about submitting to the SINGLE BEST CATEGORY and ONLY SUBMITTING ONCE. Once you've done that, it's all ya can do. Simply move on to better ways of promoting your site.
WOW... it's clear you have a deep understanding of how things work. What is the URL of your SEO blog so I can give you as many links as possible everywhere I post. Could you tell that was dripping with sarcasm? I don't think you did... in fact, I don't even think you read it, as it's clear you didn't read the guidelines of the ODP, and if on the off chance you did, it's obvious you missed that part about SUBMIT ONCE. Then again, you obviously missed the part about admin not having much to do with the site at all as well... so I'm gunna stick with you didn't bother reading them at all. Now how about changing boards to increase your post count in, as this one is already chalked full of misinformation and we certainly dont need another member like you about. Thanks & buh-bai
How is that possible with opposing views? Are you just upping your post count, or would you like to expand upon your comment?
Good one... You don't want to pester DMOZ but you also don't want to neglect submitting your site when you have added value. To be indexed in DMOZ is something that all website owners should keep as a goal.
I think those editors from DMOZ most are bloggers who disapprove your site. They dont want others take advantage what DMOZ capable of by their competitors. You will have a 50% success if you apply for an editor than 10% success for a site to get approve.
Now that is an interesting concept. That suggests DMOZ is a conspiracy...no? That is a hard pill to swallow...anyone else think the same?
Hey Jim, I see you are an editor for DMOZ. How many editors are there? How many sites a day do you review?
About 6800 and the number is growing rapidly at the moment. Some days 200, some days 10. It all depends on what else I'm doing. I've recently been through Wales and London, listing the listable. I'm currently more focused on editor applications.
