Hi there, I planned to create some niched informative site. However, I wonder how frequently of updated content should be the best to keep visitors and returning visitors to my site as often. 1. Daily 2. Once/2 days 3. Once/Week and How long should it be updated, 1 year, 10 years or forever. I asked because I'm not sure that I can pay article writer to write original contents to mine for a life. Regards, Sxperm
The actual frequency you choose doesn't matter as much as the quality of the content. If the content is poor then nobody will come back whatever the frequency its updated. Try to only release high quality posts and if that means you only post once per week/month then thats the way it should be. Once you start posting every day people expect posts every day so you should decide how much you can post and stick to it.
Thanks for your reply Mad4. I asked because I planned to sign monthly contract with some article writer (I'm also write it myself too. ) but I should concern on quality and as you said, I've to choose the way that I can stick into it.
Based on experience we are currently updating our content every other day because we are running network of sites and building more website in future so we don't have much time to do it everyday. The result of updating our content continously is rewarded. Almost all our site are ranking in their respective keywords in SERP. Goodluck with your future site BTW.
I add at least 2 pages every day, this gets me new visitors every day, its original handwritten content also, not scraped or duplicated. Also tweak which ever pages get most hits also to keep return visitors happy
I usually do a pretty big post (about 400 words) every 3-5 days.. I dont have time for any more than that at the moment!
I'd say so long as the content is of good quality then adding new content once a day would be just fine.
This is way too true. When I started my first blog I didn't give any thought to how often I would post. So at first I was making like 4-5 posts a day. Then as I started to loose interest i started posting more like 2-3 a day, then 1 a week, then eventually it was just a random post very sporadically and very very rarely. When I eventually checked my hits I noticed that my traffic had been building when I was posting frequently, and then began to evaporate when I became an unreliable poster. So maybe you should decide early if you are going to be able to maintain daily posts, or if you should start out slower and make posts on a less frequent schedule. And like others said, quality is probably more important than quantity.
