    Hello friends,
The iPad does not support the Flash plugin. You can only view "Apple's Internet" with an iPad.

    No Flash for you.

This is a step backwards in my opinion. Like it or not, Flash is part of OUR internet, and an "internet device" that is incapable of viewing Flash content is basically a crippled product.

Don't let Apple dictate what formats we can and cannot use on the internet.

Actually, I disagree. By not supporting flash, Apple (as much as I hate them) are making a stand for advancing internet technologies. 75% of web videos are flash and too much content is flash. HTML 5 will be able to do EVERYTHING flash can do, AND MORE!, and once all browsers support it, flash will become redundant and slowly die out. And that's why Apple is trying to speed things up.

Texas-based company Rip Code has announced a new ‘client bless Flash video codec’ that will allow Flash content to be streamed on Apple’s iPad. This would include sites like Hulu and You Tube, assuming the respective companies don’t find a way to block it....

What I don't understand is what's the point of changing the whole internet, writing a new language, updating those millions of sites, rewriting all browsers, if eventually HTML5 will just do what flash does? And don't give me the openness bullshit, we all know the nightmare of getting some simple css sheet to work on all browsers. The flash player penetration is close to 100%, so I don't see how the so called flash proprietary thing is bothering anyone, the fact is at least flash works the same on all browsers, that is an advantage of not having everyone messing with your platform.

HTML5 can today do what flash could do 5 years ago, and it will always be like that :D
