How fat is your cheque this month!?

Wow I can't believe this. I just started 2 days ago and didn't know that you can make money blogging. Thank you everyone for this forum and all the information.

for february, it looks like i'm not going to break the $300 mark. right now it looks like im gonna miss it by around $10 dollars, depending on how well today goes.

 

$2500, would be more if I didn't use YPN much more.

How do you all do it? I am doing good enough to get paid each month, but not good enough to afford dinner at Cs in Vancouver!

 

First off, I'm new to DP so.....hey all!

Now, I've come across this thread and I am stunned at some of the numbers coming out here. As I understand it, you only get paid when someone clicks an ad with AdSense, right? I haven't started a website mainly because I didn't think I could make one run at a profit, so how are you getting so many clicks?

I didn't think that people clicked on advertising that much. How are people making 5 figure sums each month? Also, how does that compare to your monthly expenses?

Finally, are you guys referring to the sites that some of you have in your signatures? If you would post links (if you're allowed) to your sites so that I could learn how this all works, that would be great.

it requires really a lot of hard work (and i know i'm just at the beginning of it), some sites have a CTR (click thru rate, the percantage of people clicking an ad) of more than 20%! 5 figure sums requires 100'ths of sites? i don't know actually...but i think they keep it as a secret (otherwise they have to share their money with someone else lol ).

Yes you only get profit when someone clicks on your ads, and don't click on your own! otherwise you get banned for life (and it's unfair to the advertisers)...

getting much clicks is fairly simple. have lots of visitors and a high CTR

i only have got one site (the one in my signature)..

 

For some of us compared to the high paying guys here this thread should be renamed to how fat/thin is your cheque this month

 

I won't be getting paid out this month put it that way!

Ye it does seem like hard work since you're at the mercy of your visitors' interest in the ads that are served up.

Sounds like an interesting challenge though

 

The day I make $1K from adsense, I will pee in my pants.

I'm averaging about $2-$10 with a 2 week old site.

Looking forward to a good future, $114 will be my check this month

 

I have just started adsense from last week and earned $7. hope so.... Its not bad
