If you dont market your site and if you haven't been linked any where your url then it will not be indexed in any search engine.. Thanks "FrqHuss"
with proper seo you can get ranked very fast in yahoo. I get ranked quick and I know a little SEO but I am no expert.
Without pinging any sites or obtaining links, you will truggle to get indexed! Just bookmark it or twitter the site and it will happen.
If you want to get indexed quickly, then ping the search engines your /sitemap.xml: INFO: Configure your robots.txt file, and add your built-in xml sitemap- this will allow all Search Engines, crawlers/bots to find your sitemap via your robots.txt. (see attached robots.zip file for pre-configured robots.txt, be sure to add your site in the "Sitemaps" section) note- be sure to Change "YOURSITE" to the url of your website in the sitemaps, then upload the file to your public_html directory. You can Validate your uploaded robots.txt here: http://tool.motoricerca.info/robots-checker.phtml The added benefit to this is that you do not have to manually upload/ping your sitemap to the Major Search Engines. But If you want to ping them/submit site here are the links: Here is a generic robots.txt. simply edit it with your sitemap, and upload to public_html
This is very nice help. Everything is attached file in robots.txt, you have to replace your sitemap url only and can upload. if you want disallow any url then put "disallow: url" or "allow: url".
DO NOT put "allow: url" By default all urls are alreadly allowed- unless marked "disallow" in robots txt/rel='nofollow' in the anchor tags/or you use noindex, nofollow in robots meta tags. Only "disallow" is used in a robots.txt, and a sitemap/rss feed directory under the search engine sitemap directive.
Yahoo is the quickest of all the search engines on indexing new websites. Unless you have a blog then Google seems to get those fast.
For me till the day Google is the most fast one indexing new websites. I am still waiting for to be indexed on Yahoo with a new website, which is already been indexed on Google a week ago.
Well as per me, my site is about 5 months old now and i have more than 60 yahoo backlinks now but with google there is nothing till now. I am sure i got indexed in yahoo in just 3 days.
I help with a very very large site, and I recently made some changes to url names. Hands down Yahoo was the fastest to index new changes. Any more news on the Yahoo & Bing partnership? Reason I ask is it would be a crying shame for Yahoo to just use Bing’s core search algorithm.
Yahoo is too slow to index your website even if you market it well. I have experienced it on two of my website. Better to concentrate on Google.
Doing no SEO to your site is like waiting for the crow to get white. You put up a site simply because you want to get found. Now, among any other big search engines, it is very easy to get index in yahoo.
