How fast is your Internet connection?

I have a 20Mbit down and 1Mbit up ADSL2 connection.

In reality it is not faster than 10-12 Mbit down and 650-750 Kbit upload.


How fast is your internet connection?

 

Its not faster because other servers cant keep up.

Im on 1mb, 256 up

 

I live in the Netherlands and there are several providers offering ADSL2 and ADSL2+

Here a:
20Mbit down 1Mbit ADSL2 cost 25 euros (30 USD) a month
24Mbit down 1Mbit ADSL2+ cost 49 euros (58 USD) a month

Or you can go with Cable and get 25Mbit down and 2Mbit up for 85 euros (100 USD)

There are also providers offering faster fiber sollutions, but they don't have nationwide coverage.

I was wondering what the rest of DP users have, so I started this topic.

 

I think here in UK NTL was going to go up to 25MB after x-mass. That means i should get a free upgrade.

I have a DSL PRO connection. I believe it is 500kbs, but I'm not sure. It isn't fast enough. I download huge gigabyte files.

 

It is never fast enought

Remember having 14K4 wishing for faster...
Then to 28K8, 33K6, 56K wishing for faster...
Then 512Kbit, 1Mbit, 4Mbit, 8Mbit wishing for faster...

Now with 20MBit I am wishing for faster... because my upload is only 1Mbit.


In 2006 there is going to be competition with one company coming up with VDSL and offering 32Mbit down and 4Mbit up, while another is going to offer Cable with 30Mbit down and 5Mbit up.

I am going to switch to one of them (if it is affordable) and then start wishing for faster

No idea, but very fast.

 

Mine is 256kbit/s dl and 128 up

I should practice meditation and tai chi more..

 

Mines is only 1.1 megabits per second.

 

I had to look this up at the adsl modem 'homepage' (10.0.0.138)

i have 6122kpbs / 768 kpbs (ADSL)

Man, some of you really have great connections. It will be years before we will see that here, I guess. :-/
