How fast have you managed page one for your main industries key word

    Just a discussion thread really.

    I am interested to know whats the quickest you have managed to target your main industries keyword to be on the first page of google.

    And also how many results that keyword returns.

    Actually while we are on that topic.

    What is regarded as a lot of results? Whats not a lot?

    I haven't gotten to the first page of the main keywords, but for some of the minor ones I have gotten to the top 10 just by getting a blog post about my site.

    It was for a directory I sold, 255 million results and I ranked first, didnt even know that until I was about to put it up for sale.

    I dont have too much luck with G, however Msn is great for bits of traffic, around 2 months for msn.

    To rank high, for some keywords sometimes it may take only a handful of BL to see the 1st page, for some, it would be more like 20K or more. It mostly depends on who are you competing against. Therefore to asses how competitive the keyword is, one can’t just look at the number of pages SE spits out.
