how fast do you type?

I started this thread because I just recently enrolled in a keyboarding class and did one of their test, fairly simple since I'm a computer freak.

Anyways, the test showed I typed 92 WPM (words per minutes). That was my highest, but my average was around 80-85 WPM. It showed that I made no errors also (Backspacing and correcting mistakes doesn't counts as an error, errors are counted after the entire typing session).

So in the end, here's my result.

    92 WPM highest
    80 WPM average

I suck at the typing. I've been using PC's since ~ 1992 but never took the time to learn how to type. I'm an advanced H&P'er using 4 fingers usually. The only problem is that I transpose a lot of my letters when I really get cranking. My digits cannot keep up with my brain!

Around the 150 mark with a lot of errors.... Half that with no errors. It really depends. I am fast as hell on a typewriter. Keyboards? They just suck. I learned on an older electric typewriter, so I am more comfortable with the feel of the keys on a typewriter. If they could make a keyboard that reacted like an old IBM typewriter, I would be set.

Usually around 65-75 wpm. My fingers can't move much faster than that.

I write 5 words per hour.

I would have been the first one to post a reply in this thread. But damn speed of my typing, it took me more than 11 hours to reply :(

Trying to improve my speed :)
