I just did it in 3 months with poweressence.com. I didn't put in as much effort as I'd have liked to, but I'm still happy with that result. How quick can you get a site into the top 1 million and what's a good time to aim for?
I did less than 1 month for one of my site. Below 1M is not that tough. But below 100K is something to struggle with. That site is now moving towards the 200K mark very soon.
depends on why you want to get a good aelxa ranking. You can get any site below 100k in less than a week if you want to, but not quality traffic. If you just do some basic marketing and free advertising stuff, you should go under the 1M mark in no time.
I found 1 Million wasn't that hard to get - it took me about 4 months, but < 400,000 was super hard to get and it took almost 6 months to a year
I'm at 180k right now and it's definitely getting tough to raise the rank. At this point creating backlinks and more permanent forms of traffic are very important. I got under 1 million in a few weeks of working on my site I believe, not sure though, didn't even know what Alexa was back when I first set it up. I would say that getting under 100k in the short term doesn't really matter, anyone can pay there way into the ranks, maintaining that rank without spending any money is what really counts.
As Alexa is based on traffic, backlinks aren't so important in the race to get into the top 1M. It's just about getting people to your site, which anyone can do if they pay/spam/go crazy with marketing. The trick is staying there.
You can easily get into the 1M within the first time Alexa finds your site if you have like 25 to 30 people visiting your site. 1M is not that hard to reach. However, it is hard to get into the 100K mark.
Yea 1M isn't that hard really, you should aim for 100K - that's more of a challenge/achievement, after that it's the top 30k I aim for, anything higher is just unrealistic tbh.
Need some help getting your site higher ranked? Have your site open as your homepage if you have alexa/sparky toolbar activated. And you'd need about 20-30 users visiting often who have it installed as well.
