How far you find it hard to write a post for your blog?

    Hi all,

I don't mean blogs in which people write their daily events and experiences. Actually most of us have a lot of daily events that we can write about.

What about niche blogs? those ones talking about specific subjects, do you find it hard to pick a post idea to write about? what are the methods that you apply to reach a good topic for your blog posts ?

Let's share our techniques about that.

I would like to share here my method for generating new ideas for my posts, i wrote an article about that, but as a new user i can't put links in my thread currently.

Feel free to private message me if you want to check it.

Looking forward to reading about all of your applied methods.

I actually addressed some of that in the post below. See the subhead

"Is a blog about bunions too specific?"

    Blog Post about writing Blogs

Basically, it touches on the point that niche is great but too niche paints you in a corner. The trick is finding a blog position narrower than broad but broader than narrow. And just now I finally have a headline for the blog post I am writing for later this week which is on that very subject in more detail. Thank you for forcing it out of me!

Must be a popular topic. I also did a post on this not long ago - end of March:

Coming up with Blog Post Ideas

They're strategies that can be applied to coming up with constant new posts, no matter what niche you're in.

Thanks Jenn, webgal for those nice articles, both of them are discussing the subject in a great way, however i didn't feel any duplications.

Jenn, I liked your tip about chatting up an expert.

    Good job.

It takes me 50 minutes tp write a post on the blog. But finding a theme seems to be pretty difficult...

I'll search the news or find a press release relating to my topic, or find a video on YouTube, or find another article onine and summarize or review or share the information.

Like if I find an article on the top 10 Ways To Dump A Guy, I'll got to my blog and talk about what I thought of the article, rant on something I don't like, or add a few additional suggestions to the list.

That's just how I blog. I'm sure there's other ways. This usually takes me about 10 minutes per blog.

Re: Webgal's response referencing her webpro blog entry
(I'm a newbie, so can't include the original with the link in!)

That's such good advice (good blog posting too), as you need to be able to post regularly and if it's too narrow you'll either run out of steam or repeat yourself - but can't you sub-blog if you are too broad with the main blog topic? With the daily diary type entries, they can personalize your blog, and at least get an entry on there regularly! (not sure if that's good enough for Google positions etc. though)

    Thanks again!
