Just recently I've joined in the people always stumbling in the "Freebies" section and have started my own thread. I've gotten quite alot of stumbles on my site, but how exactly does this help? How does getting stumbles help bring more traffic to my site?

LOL :D I just wanted to start stumbling with everyone, but I actually have no clue how getting people to stumble my site brings in traffic.

Does it help with SEO too?

the more stumbles, the better chance your site has of getting visited. Whats good about stumble upon is that the traffic doesn't come all at once like digg. Instead i got about 1200 people a day from stumble upon for about one week

The traffic is initially untargetted but later some of it may convert

The more thumbs up you get, the more traffic you will drive to your site.

I didn't notice my stumble refs going up until I made Digg.com's front page. Now I see some coming in every once in awhile. :)

    Hi,

i recently registered a new domain name. I put a very basic holding page online before i launch this new site and i then stumbled the site for the very first time, and when i looked at my sites stats a couple of days later i found that stumbleupon had sent me 90 uniuque users within the first 24 hours after i stumbled my new site for the first time. So i guess the more 'stumbles' you get the more users they send to your site.

Not sure how the traffic converts, I don't run any ads.:) My goal is to get blog subscribers.

I asked a couple of mates to stumble a few pages but thats it. The key with stumbleupon is that you can't cheat the system. If your site is not really cool then people click the thumbs down and the traffic stops.

I actually found out about stumble upon through my stats page. I'd never heard of the service until one day I was checking my stats and was receiving a huge amount of traffic from the service.

When it was stated above that the traffic is on target, I would have to agree to a certain extent.

The traffic is not converted at ridiculously high numbers nor ridiculously low numbers. The conversion is good enough to make you smile and be glad that stumble upon exists.

Anyway, that has been my experience was stumble upon thus far.

    Regards,
    Shannon
