Hello all. I am starting this thread because I do not know what exactly I need to be doing in order to rank my site and get to go up in PR (ex. PR1, PR2+). So far I have been putting in a lot of work on writing good content. My site is not about something where you can write and write - its about freebies, deals and savings. There are blog I write which are over 500 words for certain freebies and blog posts which are just about general tips about savings. Here is where I find myself struggling to understand what I am doing wrong. I do blog commenting, build backlinks from forum posts (signature linking mostly), follow the Paulie Cierra backlinking packets and update the site for the most part daily. Normally, when I create a post about something it get's indexed by Google within 1-12 hours. When I Google the complete title of a post, my blog comes up usually in 5th or higher position, based on how popular the post is. The Wordpress statistics, show me some keywords, which have delivered traffic to my site and when I Google them, my site comes up usually within first 10 position on the first page. How come I am not achieving PR1 and how do I know if I am ranked? Also how do I know if certain backlinks that I have tried to create, have actually worked and have created a backlink for me? Please I am only looking for good responses related to the post.
You can get PR1 easily if you are doing continuous work on your site creating content, building quality links at daily basis. But PR would be shown when it is updated, you need to wait for pr update from Google.
Google only consider quality backlinks for Page Rank, If you need high page rank then you should build high quality backlinds for your site/blog. Some high quality backlinks help your site for bring high page rank. SERP always help in traffic not for Page Rank. High Quality Backlinks = Page Rank SERP = Quality traffic
I found this really useful site with the chart on how many links you need to achieve a certain PR. http://curiouslittleperson.com/backlinks-for-google-pagerank/ Hope this helped.
Dude, your not getting a PR-1 because the backlinks you are building are crap. Comment & Signature links are considered the lowest of the low. Sure you are ranking in the serps, but i doubt your ranking in highly competitive niches at all. If you want a PR-1, then get contextual backlinks from Web 2.0 & High PR domains. Only then you'll see an increase in PR.
The PR is all about the dofollow backlink. You need to get dofollow backlink point to your site to gain the PR juice. Once you have enough PR juice, your PR will increase. By the way, the PR tool is not update instantly, you gotta wait for next PR update to see the change.
I think you have not done your On-Page Optmization properly thats why even though you have created quality content, backlinks and forums signatures, your website has not been ranked yet. Go through the below thread posted in this forum which will guide you in the right way. https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/techniques-to-do-on-page-seo-for-your-website.2638438/
Generally there is no particular forumula to get guranteed PR. But making backlinks , Do Blog commenting , Press Release, Social media optimization, Directory submission, Profile signatures and Article posting will increase the possibilities. Also important thing is how you are making backlinks, As what is the Page Pr where you linked, is your content is relevant to topic. If you find everything according to SEO rules , Then Go ahead, Very soon your PR will be 1 or more.
In addition to what everybody have been saying here, qaulity backlinks and optimized contents on your site will get the better PR you have always been dreaming of. I will advise you to use Google Webmaster Tool to know the status of your website.
You'd be surprised how far good content goes. You don't even need to worry about backlinks. Provide quality content and Google will take care of the rest.
