    hi, I am one those misfortune souls that had a good ranking website for many years, sesile.com, and recently the google traffic shrunk to 10% of what it was during those strange updates. waited for few months... and now in total despair i think to try to use facebook and other social network to try to get my traffic from google back.
    however it is not at all clear how exactly will facebook help me? is the importance of a link posted on an facebook page with authority or how exactly?

    Do you have webmaster tools on this website? Check for any errors there.
    Check for any spammy links pointing your site and social signals are always a good thing to rank a site.

    do you mean googles webmaster tools? got it when you told me and it has now finally crawled my website. how to understand which link he may consider spammy?
