How effective will Google +1 be in the longrun?

    I see there's a lot of integration with social bookmarking with a lot of sites, +1 being one of them. Will plus one be effective in generating traffic and if so why? I know that Google introduced Buzz not too long ago but didn't take off that well. Will +1 prevail?
