It can help you get some exposure and backlinks, but I have never gotten a lot of traffic from the major article sites. It doesn't hurt, but don't break your back if you don't like writing articles!
Article submissions are great, when you think outta the box. Most people just think article submissions go only as far as GoArticles.com and EzineArticles.com, when it shouldn't. You should contact leading sites in your niche and see if you could place your article on their site. EXCELLENT way to get backlinks from strong industry sites (and one-way no doubt). Powerful links. Also contacting bloggers saying you'd like to be a guest writer for a day. Another great way to get a good link going back to your site. Don't think article "banks" are the end-all be-all to article distribution.
Well said tim. If its a good article you could see great results, otherwise you will only get the benifits of the linkback, which is also worth it.
thanks Also, even if it isnt that good, lots of sites purely link new content so you get backlinks like that too
Submitting articles can be extremely useful for link-building process. If it is a great article and is picked up by a large site, then links can quickly grow from it. However, if you can find niche article sites then this can help increase visitors as well as links from their personal blogs etc. The higher quality of article submitted, the higher chance of it being successful in bringing plenty of links to your site thereby boosting its SERPS and bringing more organic traffic to your site.
First post - Article Submissions. Lately this seems to be a phenomenon. Like Links were, and then big G updated it's algo to credit only the relevant BLs and a lot of sites dropped (hurt most to the Adsense'rs). I too have been submitting the articles plus blogging some of them. I for some reason haven't seen any major boost in my BLs. I have been submitting for a month now and have submitted to some 50+ article directories. Some BLs are I saw immediately were the relevant sites however general article directories still do not show BLs. Still submitting to the directories, I am sure within few months I should see good solid BLs (I can see few from relevant sites so will submit more articles to those sites).
I am a recent convert to article submitting. If you post an article a day, you should have minimum 30 backlinks is a month which is not bad, especially if you are in a competitive niche.
thanks for replies. I don't consider myself a great or sometimes even good article writer and it takes me a while to write them so I've started buying a few related articles and will submit those. I'll see how that goes.
I write articles and have 67,000+ backlinks from about 200 articles over 9 months, but I think articles are starting to lose their traffic power. Micah
Is this the site with 67K+ BLs? I will have to increase my article submissions (I post one article/week to some 30 different article submissions but I think I will have to post at least 3-4/week to all of the directories.
No, I believe that site has around 900 or so back links currently on Google from about 6 articles in the past 2 months and 2 press releases. Micah
Any article writers needing work? I have some sites that need fresh content. PM me for details. Micah
