Hi guys, I've heard so many on this links submit directories stuff, may i know what's the benefits? how effective it is? how important it is?
Web directories should be a part of your overall link building strategy. They shouldn't be the only thing you do, but they are important. You should start by trying to find quality directories in your niche and submit to them. These links will help boost your site in the SERPs. Once you've submitted to the niche directories then you can branch out to the general directories that are well edited and have tight niche categories. Just do a little every day and in 6 months you'll be happy with the results.
For example if theres little competition, you target your keywords with the titles that you choose to submit and have a little patience you will probably see some decent serps. If for example your tagetting mortgage keywords, insane competition, then even a ton of directory submissions may mean that your still not ranking, this is not saying directories wont help for sites with heavy competition but you will need to combine it with links from other places, not just directories. Take into account dozens of other factors that can affect directory submissions being effective for a submitter or not. Will the directories be brand new, the variation in titles and descriptions used etc etc
That makes sense and is pretty logical. The breadth of your marketing efforts is crucial to any success. I just heard that directory submissions are worthless these days and I do not agree with that opinion. If you go about it in a non-systematic, spammy way, then the results will be small. I try to be selective and concentrate on small selection of keywords in the title, changing it a bit. Doing it bit by bit will pay off eventually.
well... is there any NEGATIVE effects of directory submissions? lets say you submitted to many lower PR directories or in a "spammy" way?
Directory submissions will surely work, just be sure to follow the guidelines other members stated above.
