Is facebook advertising effective? I have seen some reports which show that Facebook advertising is not that effective. Is there anyone who has experienced this?

very useful and effective. facebook pretty much separated all the target groups for you and provide fan page for you to interact with them.

If you understand who your target market is then paid Facebook ads are some of the most inexpensive yet most effective ads available. You must research WHO you want to see your ads on Facebook first, ie. age, gender, likes, dislikes, location, etc.

its very useful if you know how to use it... you can target right to very specific target groups...
but have heard the average click through rate is 0.05%... am not impressed....

Facebook ads can be very effective but like everyone else is saying you need to know what your doing. I started out in bad form and it cost me an arm and a leg but after some research I learned the ways. You can make good money from it.

depends on your ad.. If you want it to work, you have to make sure that it is catchy and attractive. Make sure that your ad will attract viewers for it not to be wasted.

    1. facebook ads are much more expensive at price per click than google adwords.

    2. people stay on facebook to socialize with friends, and not to buy things...

Compared to the other social networks out there I'd say facebook is the most effective. Depending on just how effective it is depends on the methods you use. I'm writing up an ebook outlining my successes with facebook. I'll be sure to post it up on dp when I'm done ;)

I don't like spend some money for FB advertisement. Obviously you can use to get some visitors from FB. You do that completely free of cost.

I think FB is like everything else when it comes to all advertising. You have to do your homework and know what you're doing and then I think if you stick with it it can be successful!

I suppose it also depends on your target market, and related product. I've had little exposure to linked-in and twitter, suppose I need to start spending a little more time to understand how it could be used.

I've try facebook advertising, yes.. this ad is so powerfull. Also it has some nice feature like you can choose the age target, key, country, sex, etc. This feature is very useful to point your target visitor.. :)

With the soaring user database,Facebook is a powerful source to reckon with. You have to set the filters right to enable the target audience for your baitful ads. However with so much competition..its helpful to have a niche business.
