Hello, I have been gaining good search engine traffic. But I was wondering if Adwords is really effective.
I heard someone mention at an internet conference once that adwords is "advertising on steroids". Absolutely true, in a matter of minutes, you can place an ad on google adwords and have a ton of 'targeted' visitors knock on your website door! Of course you need to know what to do with those visitors when they land on your site. There's nothing else on this planet that works that fast and efficiently, although with the advent of web 2.0 and the likes of Facebook, that may be changing! The downside is that unless you have clearly defined adwords 'goals' and 'strategies' you can very quickly become broke using adwords. These goals would include 'what you want' from the advertising campaign, for eg, collection of names, selling your own or someone else's product or service, using adsense, testing a market (there are free options now to do this these days– well not completely free, you need to spend 'your time'). I suggest for newbies beginning with adwords, start off slowly using only 'exact' or 'phrase' matched keywords. Of course do your detailed niche and keyword research first! Most important part of the whole process. As a general rule use only one keyword per Ad Group (unless you have some 'very' similar keywords that could go together in an Ad Group). Takes a fair bit longer but usually does pay off. Write compelling ads that show the 'benefits' to the person reading them, and always run a minimum of 2 ads per Ad Group. If you then drop the ad with the lower click through rate (CTR) and replace it with a new ad, this will allow you to continually improve your CTR, your quality score and thus reduce click costs. Continual improvement (even if small) is a powerful concept. In many cases, I have halved my click costs on some keywords by doing this alone. Just the simple 'testing' of ads, can make a dramatic improvement to your campaigns. Also, make sure to use your keywords in the ads and have a relevant landing page. Additionally, set your budget conservatively in the beginning. You don’t want to wake up to a nasty surprise. It's amazing how many people don't follow the basics. That can help give the rest of us an advantage. Good luck. Anthony Buchalka
Adwords will provide targeted traffic so I can say that Adwords is really effective Will your campaigns be profitable is the key issue if you are selling something, if you are looking for clients, if you are into affiliate marketing... Always study your competitors anyway and try to do things better
I would add this suggestion, which I didn't see in the preceding posts... do use conversion tracking to monitor the true, end-game return on investment. I find that PPC absolutely doesn't work well for some types of products... Cheap, one-off products in categories where you're competing with people who can pay $1 or $2 or $5 a click, for example. Also, in other categories--local services--I find you can be very sloppy and still quite effective.
Most people who are familiar with the net don't even click on Google Ads so I'm surprised that you all find it so effective.
You pay per click, so it depends on your ability to convert clicks into profits. If your website doesn't convert very well, particularly compared to your competitors, then you'll struggle (since your clicks are worth less than theirs, so you can't bid as much). If your website converts well, particularly compared to your competitors, then you can make good money. But you need to read up first - there are a lot of ways to lose money on Adwords, and some seem quite rational...
i Agree but guys do you have any suggestion if im ripe to use google adwords my site is http://zamboangaclassifieds.com
Your site is probably not suitable for adwords, as it is too diversified. Always best to send targeted traffic to relevant landing pages. Help in your quality score.
Definitely Adwords it is effective as you get instant traffic. It's also good for testing SEO. Once you know your profitable PPC keywords, you can focus your efforts to rank them in the search engines.
It is effective. But it is not as seen as cheap. You can limit the budget but in every way you will pay for that keyword which google decides.
