How effective is a ad unit in a blog post?

is there anyone here who can share their experience? Does inserting adsense within your blog posts increase clicks?

 

depending on your content category and blending , you must get good results from your blog

 

It's very effective because that's a premium spot grabbing a lot of attention.

 

If the content of the blog post is related to the ad then it will receive a click or 2 usually.

 

adsense unit above or in between post content is very effective

 

large rectangle, floate left, over the fold gets lots clicks not only in blog posts but in every article, on any CMS

 

well, its a spot which caught the interest of most of the visitors. You should get high ctr from it.

 

Is it a free blog or do you have your own domain?
Regardless of the ad placement, You'll need visitors before you'll get clicks. Owning your own domain may give you a edge in search engine results, thus some traffic to click on that well placed ad.

 

Its the best placement I feel. If your blog is good and people read it then they will see it.

 

If you depend on blog+adsense for earning, definitely.
Content very much about something marketable would perform good in CTR.

 

It is the most effective place for me.

 

I have about 5,000 blog pages (using standard WP's templates) but not getting much clicks.
Unless one is able to make his/her own blog templates with good ads placements, adsense ads within blog posts are not getting good number of clicks since the ads placement provided by standard (ready-made) templates are suferring from "ads blindness".
