    Hey,

I was wondering how effective has advertising on dp been toward your business? I have been looking for a place to place some additional advertisements and Digitalpoint has been in the back of my mind, but I really don't know if it would be worth the gambling on or not?

Well, I can't answer for any advertiser specifically, but it's going to be like any advertising really... if you do it right, it will be profitable... if you are dumb, it's not going to help your business much.

Like if you have something that's vertical and relevant to a certain area, just run ads in that area. Like if you have a vBulletin installation service, just run banner ads in the vBulletin forum. Your ROI is going to be better doing it that way than running the same banner in something like Politics & Religion. Also, the inline keyword-based ads only cost when someone clicks and you get actual traffic. For banner ads, you can target specific countries as well... so maybe you have something that is relevant to just the vBulletin forum, and only users in the US or Canada.

BTW, there's no minimum for your daily spend, so you could set a spend cap of $0.50 for the day if you want. A lot of advertisers start small to see how it works... if it works for them, they can ramp up their campaign.

So depending on what you sell and how you run your campaign, it can be very good (some advertisers have made over 75 different funding payments, and some have funded more than $50,000 so far). I suspect they wouldn't keep advertising if it wasn't making them money overall.

On the flip side, for some people it might not be a good fit. Someone selling steak dinners only good at a single location in Omaha, and were bidding on the keyword "food", probably isn't going to have a lot of success with converting the traffic they get since it's pretty local.

I tested advertisig first, set up 10 USD limit for a day, after a couple of days I could see some results. Sure, they may vary from the results when I would spend 1,000 USD (my ads would have been displayed more often), however still some tendency can be seen.

I need more positive response to use this opportunity. So far, i feel the cost premium enough!
