Directory links are effective as long as the directory has got good PR and Alexa. I have noticed that many Directories which are not even crawled in google; if you get backlinks from those directories; they will not give any link benefit to your site.
Link from directories are as important as backlinks from any other sites. Directory submissions is a must part of your link building technique. I wont say that it is the only best thing, but it is one of the most important things that are required to get good backlinks and rankings.
Over the years, I have seen Google giving less and less importance to directories and they are surely getting marginalized in their scheme of things! Though links from directories are the easiest and cheapest way to get backlinks, but I guess they are not as effective as they used to be in the past! Regards, RightMan
Directory link importancy are getting lower and lower. I can say most of the directory dont provide good benefit, only those quality directory with high PR did helps
It's well known that directory submissions are effective and it's also well-understood that the effectiveness has reduce in last couple of years. You can still get a decent value from submitting to free directories.
Those directory are very helpful which have a good page rank over Google. these directory sites also have a good Alexa page rank. try to submit your site on such type of directory, they definitely provides you a good number of back links.
I thinks more directory doesn't make your site get more index or traffic,.. I just submit my site to major directory or search engine
As with any other backlinks, PR and authority of the directory makes a difference. I think it's good to use in addition to other types, but I wouldn't rely on them as a primary source of backlinks.
if directory have good pr in category in which ur link is going then it will give benefit to ur site as pr increment as well as k/w ranking improvement.
Submitting your site to directories is a good way to diversify your link profile and makes it look more natural. Lots of backlinks from a large variety of IPs will certainly help to some extent. However if you're going after highly competitive keywords then directories, forums and social bookmarking sites just won't do the job. You will need a decent quality backlinks from old and established websites. Even better if they're related to your niche.
i only used directories for my first site and within 2 months i had between 2 and 3 thousand visitors ea. month. no joke! it was a pretty awesome niche though. un tapped. i believe directories are a very natural place to start a new sites link building campaign. then i started doing linkexchanges and paid advertising and now. Now... of the 10 -15 sites i currently own and operate, that first one still dominates with over 20,000 visitors a month.
This is my first website, and I got 12,000 visitors my first month. Yesterday's traffic 456 Visits Traffic this month 670 Visits Traffic last month 12195 Visits
Personally I have never seen any kind of measurable benefit from directory submissions. Honestly I don't even do it any more.
Directory submission plays a vital role in driving more traffic to our website as we builds more backlinks through directory submission, very effective in increasing our page rank. Regards
I think directory submission will create base for your site that is may help your site to be visible. Google also crawl directories so if your site is submitted to directory than you would get backlink which act as vote to your site .
