I've never really given ad links a try because I've heard they don't convert too well. I primarily stick with banners and skyscrapers. For those of you who use both ad links and text ads, which has typically performed better for you? Specifically, what percentage of your income is derived from each (ex. 65% text ads, 35% ad links)?
Adlinks tend to work well on forums for me. Depends how well you blend them in also. But generally once someone clicks on the adlink they will follow through & click an ad too.
Depends on the web site. My experience is that link units do not work as well as ad units. Here's why. - User must click twice to get to advertiser site - Link units are smaller in size and more difficult to see on page - Only one link unit is allowed - Ads on link units have lower RPC that ad units However, in my experience, link units have a higher CTR (users click on more than one ad), which partially makes up for lower RPC -- but not quite. Ad units are still better revenue producers -- for me. Your mileage may vary.
