How DP started off?

Hi huys, I just wonder hoe dp started off and how they attract traffic. How many years is dp in the business already?

 

4 years and they started with PhpBB unbelievably..

 

I guess DP had great tools and wanted the webmaster to discuss them?

 

Even though vBulletin as out before phpbb? Interesting

 

There were discussions about Adsense and Adwords on this forum when there was little information about them on the net in general. I got frustrated with the mods at SitePoint forum and found better info here. It was a fortunate time to be starting a forum and the moderators were reasonable.

 

I also came here because SitePoint let me down.

But are you serious.. DP started off iwth PHPBB??

 

Does it really matter that much? DP wasn't big back then so it really didn't need VBulletin.

It doesn't, I just find it amusing that the worlds greatest forum (call me a suckup) started with PHPBB.. Just think its amazing.. And goes to show that anyone can make anything.. Even with PHPBB *shudder*

 

I'll second that.

Sitepoint has kind of sold out too, occasionally good for listing at the market place but "it's gonna cost ya guvnor" lol!

 

Funny.. I went to DP first then tried sitepoint but left right away ... wasn't worth my time..

 

I went to DP from another site, still like both of them.

 

I found DP by pure accident, but that's another story.

I have never even ventured out of here to look at any other webmaster forums. They(my family) can barely get me off of here to cook and do my wifely duties. lol

What would I do if I got hooked on another forum? I'm staying right here and doing my part to help keep DP the great forum it is.

Theres proof, but it was only a matter of weeks to upgrade to vB.
