As i know namecheap and godaddy are companies? you want to forward a DOMAIN from a company to another company? or forward a domain to a URL?
there is no Forward between companies you have to pay around $7 and transfer your domain from a company to another company..
and about URL forwarding,,if you want to use URL FORWARDING you should use your registrar DNS es in Nameserver.. like you should put ns1.name.com (for name.com registrar) then the URL forwarding will get activated..

    regards

well if you have hosting at godaddy then you should have gotten an email with nameservers to point your domain to like ns1.godaddy.com, ns2.godaddy.com it will be in the welcome email. check that and if you don't see anything like that then upload a screen shot of the email and we will work on it.

you should register a hosting via godaddy with the same domain name then set godaddy info to your namecheap domain,it will not work if you have hosting with another domain and want to set your domain on it..

the both hosting and domain should have access...
