How does Yahoo work?

We all hear about what makes Google tick but not a great deal about Yahoo. Are there any tricks that can be use to boost rankings within the Yahoo search engine or does it run in the same way as Google?

I've heard there aren't too many differences, but then many of my websites don't rank even close to the same on Google and Yahoo.

There must be some glaring differences somewhere... I'd be interested to hear from someone who has experience with focusing on Yahoo rankings instead of Google.... anyone out there do that?!

    Cheers,
    CcK

There are algorithmic differences, of course. Then again, if you stick to writing content for people, not SE crawlers, you should be ok in both Yahoo and Google.

Page titles & page content are given most importance in Yahoo.Yahoo when compared with Google, is biased more toward commerce than informational sites.

Ok, Yahoo is just like any other search engine it crawls, it indexes, it feeds, and pings. Just like any normal search engine. You should not be worried about Yahoo since Google is the one to rank top in once you do that the others will follow. This is because every search engine bases their self around Google somewhat.

I definitely need an answer to this. I was just reading an article the other day that may be taking Google back behind Yahoo, unless Google can kick something up big quick. I have been Google advertising for some time and building everything accordingly. If Yahoo jumps forward, I will be needing actual information, not quess work, on how to use Yahoo.
