I still have no idea how the weight is calculated? I read through this forum but found no answers. The Faq just says (the more value/ad space you bring to the network, the more impressions/weight you will get across the network) but what does that mean? Cheers...
Are you talking keyword weight? Can you further specify your question? I'm not sure I know what you mean
He's talking about the Coop link network. It means the more pages you stick other people's ads on, and the higher the quality of those pages (PR I believe) the more times your ads will show on other participant's pages. The more you give the more you get. You get what you deserve. Links to you are proportionate to your links to the rest of the network. Clear?
Ahh ok, so the more pages I have the ads on the better. Ok that's clear now thanks guys What is a good weight? When I first set it up and got everything validated the ads appeared on around 1500 pages or so and my weight was 10, but I see people talking about getting weights in the 1000s and 10s of 1000s, how do they do it? Cheers..
Thanks Bassman. Man this is an active forum! Good stuff One more question tho, I was reading a few threads and it says at the moment that pagerank isn't considered, is this correct?
No, I'm pretty sure pagerank is still considered... but the number of indexed pages is the most important. I have a weight of 80,000+, with 15,000+ indexed pages, PR6 main page, with decent PR spread throughout.
Holy smokes 80 000+ weight! How long it take for the CoOp Server to index 15 000 pages? Also where can you see how many pages it has indexed? Thanks again
Ahh I am with you, so your CoOp weight goes by how many pages google has indexed plus a few other factors.. Cheers..
This means I got lots of work to do, only have 400 pages spidered by google, need to do some SEOing asap! Cheers...
how much is that "diminshing"? i saw people running 5+ ads per page, but i didnt read any proof that its really part of algorithm.. Shawn?
Shawn has never given specifics, but the 2nd ad isn't worth as much as the 1st, and the 3rd ad isn't worth as the 2nd, etc, etc...
...and 100000th isnt worth as 99999? What I want to say is that that can be abused, cant it? Thats why I think that multiple ads doesnt bring and extra weight... but I can try adding 1Mil of them to see what will happen to my weight? Do you have any concrete stats (numbers) which would support your multiple-ads-more-weight theory? You can answer here, you triggered me to open new topic just for that issue.
