I came across this website: http://www.boomhs.com as I was thinking of domains to buy. It looks like it gets very few hits. Also, I searched google and yahoo and couldn't find hardly any backlinks for it. How the heck does it have a PR of 3?! It has NO content at all!
I was wondering the same thing about one of my sites. I bought a brand new fresh domain, put about 10 pages of content on it and then did nothing with it 5 months ago. Infact I completly forgot about it. Then I check it today and it is a PR3 now. Weird.
page rank is not related with content . it's completely related with the backlinks. if it has backlinks, it's normal
Really. For fun, check out my trade. Small scale competion, but see how that pans-out. gardenaesthetics.com was a PR 5 and is now a 4 nwgardening.com highridge.com > mine @ mdvaden.com What do you think, content vs. links wise. Personally, I never understood why the first one had the PR it did. Highridge is one of the largest landscape companies with fairly big financial resources. Has to be a pro doing their site. The two NW garden gals, probably had someone design their site for them, with them editing - I suspect due to the instructions in code. The garden aesthetics lady does her own. It's looked like that, possible since its conception. May be the closest thing to a 1990 site that I can think of. ____________ To the original post, is it possible that site changed its face entirely after its rank was set at 3?
this update was flawed as many have said, the update boosed PR of new sites with or without content and with or without backlinks for some reason - was hard on older sites. It was kinda stupid.
This is true, 100%. From Google: @Ronsuave87 Google don't really shows all your backlinks, but I can give you some of the backlinks of the site you've mentioned above. www.pbvids.com/forum/481822-post13.html www.dealdiggi.com/story.php?id=3549 Again, content is not related to PR. I hope all of you have been enlightened.
My site got PR6, and has virtually no traffic or backlinks. It'd probably only take one or two PR5 or 6 backlinks and a few more 'normal' links to get a PR3...+ remember google does not update it's visible backlinks often. Just compare webmaster tools to search results...
Cool. I'm want to start a show called "PR Mythbusters" and you can star in it. But only if the PR 6 is verifiable. Can't be the one in your profile, right?
LOL...I have a 2 pages site, basically of words i found on overture, no sentences, nothing coherent..PR3 lol...as far as im concern, Google and their PR can stick it up there :-D
Sometimes google is so hard to understand. We can't tell the reason because google don't reveal its secrets.
beaware there might be virtual pr thing .... btw yes its true that all you have to do it just get backlinks from the high pr site and you are up up and up... thanks
because 'boom head shot' is a popular term/saying in the CSS world. i'm sure people have linked to the site simply because it's funny & people will know what it means
