I just got an email that I know is a scam, but I'm curious as to how it works. I was wondering if any of you could shed some light on it.

I would say that when the police come knocking on your door asking about stolen credit cards you then have to plead your innocence.

You will look like you actually made the transaction because it's your address and you then shipped the goods on. What's more your bank accounts will show the money you "made" by then selling the goods on cheap.

Sarah raised a very valid point, these could be hacked credit card orders and it must be a plot to fool you into becoming their drop! Or AFAIK a person who would receive goods from the companies that they pay using hacked cards!

And then they get it shipped from you to somewhere else, maybe a PO Box and wallah you're instantly a criminal!

Another possibility would be that it is another of those WAH (Work at home) scams! You fill up their application form, then they demand maybe 50-70$ for enrolling you in their program, once you pay they place impossible terms in front of you or they Vanish completely!

And you're left with ... umm... well you guessed it! NOTHING!

There is free cheese only in the mousetrap. I would advice you to delete at once any emails that offer much money for almost nothing to do. It is possible to make such money working 1-2 hours a day, only if you worked for 8-10 hour the previous couple years.
