How Does This Page Have a PR of 7 ?

    Hi,

    Anyone know why this site page has a PR of 7 ?

    http://boren.nu/recent-reads/

    There are links to amazon books and google adsense and a few pictures, but other than that, I am curious as to how this is done.

    What is the secret here ? There must be something to learn from this.

    Might not have been that in the past. Could have been anything there - let's say a Goatse sort of image. Everyone and their aunty linked to it, then the owner got bored and put something else there.

    Click on the About link... it says:
    "My name is Ryan Boren. I work at Automattic."

    Even that simple About page has a PR6. And the main page of the blog is PR8. :)

    Automattic = makers of Wordpress... So you can assume he has some links from other high PR pages.

    Things to look at:
    - does it have a dmoz ranking (or its domain)
    - what are the PR's of pages linking to it
    - how old is this domain
    - what does the webarchive think this site was about 3 years ago

    Yes, that would explain it. He gets links from the wordpress site, and from people blogging on wordpress.

    Though it has only 1 external backlink reported by Yahoo!
    But still it has about 2,716 internal backlinks ... to make it little credible to consider its PR more deeply. :)
