    MSN and Yahoo announce they will accept Google's xml sitemap protocol for better spidering.
    This means one XML sitemap will serve all three engines. All the small search spiders will quickly adopt, too.

    How does this help you and me? Give your views.

    well.. That would be very much fine. The ratio will be 1 sitemap is good for 3 SE's.:)

    You'd better read www.sitemap.org. Now sitemap is a standard file format for those major search engines, and that means 1 sitemap will work for many search engines.
