How does the parameter hl influences Google results.

    Hello,
    until a few days ago, I thought that hl only refers to the language in which google displays the results, but errare humanun est.

    eg:
    http://72.14.207.104/search?q=redscowl%20bluesingsky&hl=es
    http://72.14.207.104/search?q=redscowl%20bluesingsky&hl=en
    http://72.14.207.104/search?q=redscowl%20bluesingsky&hl=pl
    shows pretty different results.

    Does somebody know, why?

    I searched the google hp and googleed to try to find an answer but without success.

    hl=... is language of the interface (default:en)
    so imagine next: some user from italy has hl=it (as usual, some may have hl=en or whatever depends of individual preferences). Of course this user will have italian sites at his SERPs (depends on query naturally). So think about it...
