Hi, I am outstationed in China and was checking on my website through wireless broadband this evening when I saw the page rank values from the Google toolbar suddenly jumping up from 0 to 3-5 range for my website. Again without any reason, the internet access was cut off. 15 minutes later when I was able to access the web again, the pageranks returned to 0 again. The short-lived joy aside, can anyone enlighten on how the toolbar pagerank values are derived, as I was mystified by the event?
There are multiple datacenters that Google pulls from to show the information in the toolbar. As there is an update going on right now, not all the dc's have the same info. Use a tool like http://www.iwebtool.com/pagerank_checker to check what your PR is across the various DC's. -Matt
Thanks for the info. I just found out about the PR update later. Sure hope that the PR can go up. Ken
