How does SE's view this text?

If my site was about widgets how would search engines view this: widgets? (note question mark)

Would the search engines see it as widgets? with the question mark or does it still view it as widgets (w/o question mark). I would think if it viewed it was widgets? that it wouldn't look at it as a keyword for widgets.

They would see it without the question mark. They're smart enough to figure that out.

Thanks MrX for the response. I would assume other characters would be ignored also such as:

    (widgets)
    "widgets"

All would be viewed to se's as widgets, right?
