How does seo work for business sites that don't have daily content updates?

    Hi guys

I have been out of the game for a while and the whole panda/penguin is all frightening news to me. From what I gather the emphasis on content is more important than it ever has been. So my question is: Is there any chance to have good ranking for keywords on a business site that has no purpose to add content daily??

A better examples is I have been working on creating a few software products and I am now setting up the website. The website acts as a business site and a place to sell my software. I don't think adding a blog would suit the site or making any kind of posts other than about my products could help conversions and hurt the overall simplicity of the website. So with that said is there no chance of getting good rankings for keywords related to my software? Is there something I am missing that google factors in? How do you guys do it after these updates?

Your best bet is to get some social proof. Make a facebook fan page and twitter for your site.
