I'm working on starting my first proxy site (just need to find the right design), proproxy.org, and am wondering how i go about marketing it or driving traffic to it. Does anyone know much about proxies and whats involved in driving traffic to it???
It all depends on what your budget is. If you are on a very limited budget, then submitting to top site lists, and proxy lists is your only solution. If you have a substantial budget you should invest in advertising on other proxy sites.
starting a proxy site is a good idea but to have more trafic on it depends on the indexing of your web.. if you make a good web with having submitted in thousands of paid or free directories then automatically it responses well in time so try it do not fear...invest some money on the publicity ...Bye - Umesh
Advertise on famous proxy websites (I got some, PM me if you want to advertise there). Other than that, submit to proxy topsites (this will only help you in your google rankings, wont bring you much traffic directly though) and do myspace!
MrMoolah, I have tried your web proxy, good design, but you have adsense ads in the proxied pages!!!! Dont put adsense in the proxied pages or you account will be closed in the next pre-payment analysis. In the proxied pages you can try sell banners on the top, or adbrite, but adsense or ypn is against TOS. Good luck
