How does my blog/forum look?

First off, I want to apologize for making a second forum for basically the same topic. Is there a certain point when you can no longer edit your posts, because I was unable to edit my last topic. I will keep everything consolidated in here, but the last topic had so many changes to my look, and I wasn't able to put them in the OP.

Anyway, here is my first serious attempt at a site. Currently, I have a free phpbb forum running. I plan to revamp the site and add a blog as a main page. what do you guys think. I was thinking about changing a lot of the black parts to white.

    The blog:

    The matching forum:

Is there a way to change the 'forum, last post, etc' bar from black to white? The buttons and headers all have image files, which I can edit, but I'm not sure how to change the forum headers.

By the way, I tried right clicking the black bar that I want to change and hit 'View background image', but, for some reason, that just takes me to the background image I have for the header. It only does this on the black bars. The orange bars I am able to see what file is the source.

OK the black border looks much better on your template this time since you added black bars and such :)

Thank you. Any tips for me. I am pretty satisfied with how it looks. Although, I kinda want to cut down on some black, as I feel it looks a little too dark. But, I still am content with it. Any tips would be appreciated.

you could probably do something with the saturation. Should be more subtle I think.

I like your idea and design - orange is a nice bet for a very fresh forum. But this kind of orange somewhat makes my eyes hurt. Maybe you can change it a bit?
And I guess orange and black without the blue addition will look much better.

    Not bad.
Your design looks cool. I like your choice of colors except for the blue that seems out of place.
    Otherwise, good work.

Orange/black mix is good but perhaps you could work a little on header text?
    Anyway,I like it!

Thanks for the comments guys. I do see what you are saying about the Blue. However, I was trying to go for something that fits, and also stands out. Without the blue, it looks great, but it looks a bit generic to me. I want people to see orange + blue and think of my site.
