Just wondering other people's opinions on this so far. How does the point we are at now in Jagger compare with the same point in Florida and Bourbon? Was this much time into Florida or Bourbon producing this crazy of SERP's like we see in Jagger? The reason I ask is I hear a lot of people panicking and other people saying 'be patient, I have seen this before and usually your site will rebound fine once all is said and done'. In Florida and Bourbon did a lot of people freak at first but were then happy with the final results? And how long did they both take before the 'updates' were complete?
The SERPS I watch have not moved one little bit. There is not one spammy site in the top 30 in my niche, Maybe whatever tweaks they've put in place effect spam control because we're in the same order we've always been. Me? Lucky #13.
I'm not really seeing spammy sites either. More like completely irrelevant. Expired ebay listings and craigslist posts for very competitive search terms doesn't quite seem right.
I don't know but I'll be damn impressed if they were able to make it even more harmful than Bourbon... Seriously though - I have a lot of green in the tracker today that I haven't had in months. In fact, as of about a week ago, I lost the ONLY remaining top 100 listing I had in Google for any keywords on any of my sites. Looks like Jagger is going to be a better friend. My sense is that they realized Bourbon went a bit too far.
I am downright disgusted... I think I'll just go find a girl with far away eyes until this settles...
funny, matt cutt's latest post is more concerened with reporting spam then it is about helping us who have tanked. hmmmm .... very interesting. i guess we are all spammers.
Totally agree, that's why when every one cries about this update I don't understand... my site actually jumped up a couple of spots. Looks like its time to start giving some seo consultations...
So does anyone have anything to add regarding the orginal question in this thread? I am really curious.
Google doesn't do this... once you have moved, you will stay there for some time until there is another big update. I got hit by one last year and it took several months of very hard work to climb back up. Waiting for your rankings to magically come back is something that isn't going to happen.
Well, mine already have started to come back, and I have heard that this will happen by lots of people in these forums here and other places, so I am not so sure what to think???
I've witnessed it happen before, when you don't come back I think it's because in googles eyes there was a reason for a permanent rank decrease, I have had it where I come back stronger than ever after being put down though w/o any work and only giving it a bit of time. No matter what nothing more to do then watch stats, wait and brain storm.
florida dumped me some and then I started climbing back, the next update put most of our main KWP at or close to #1 and the last few movements, the worst I saw was bumping to page 2 and then back again. Currently not seeing much affect on this update.
Not true. I got hit last update for about 2 weeks then the site went back to normal. Same site got hit again last weekend though.
