Ok, do you know that Google Adwords is all about advertising your own product or service (or a product/service that you're selling as an affiliate)?

When you do a search with Google, all the adverts on the right hand side are managed by Google Adwords.

The way the ads appear is triggered by the search term that the web-visitor uses for searching. Each advertiser pays an amount (that the advertiser determines) for their 'advert' to be shown whenever a match is made on a search term.

So if I were 'bidding' on the phrase 'Brighton Hotel' and someone searched for a hotel in Brighton, my adwords ad would (hopefully) display on the right hand side.

There's more to it than that, but this is a quick basic overview.

Does this help? And is it what you were expecting?
