After many years publishing information-based websites in English, I am now looking into creating some Spanish-language websites and am thinking about how Google may treat them. I have a few questions about Spanish websites that I would appreciate answers if anyone has experience in this field. Firstly, assuming both are available, should I use .es or .com domain names? The websites will be in Castilian Spanish, but the content will often still be appropriate to Spanish speakers in Mexico, Argentina etc. If I use a .es domain for the site, will it still appear for searchers in Mexico? If I go for a .com would this reduce the change of the site ranking high for searches made in Spain? Secondly, does SEO differ in any signficant way in Spanish? Assuming link-building has a similar effect, can anyone recommend Spanish-language directories that I could submit the sites to? Finally, is AdSense a good monetization strategy for Spanish websites? If not, can anyone suggest some alternatives?
if the language is in Spanish, then .es and .com is not a big matter. Because most of your user will come from .es google. As your states, you might choose .com, which will be better for other location other than Spain. If I were you, I will take both since both available. If the Spanish like English, is a space-separates-word language, then there no difference between Spanish SEO or English SEO. You can choose get links from Spanish websites, in GEO or language, will work great. AdSense will work on Spanish site, is it the best, I don't know.
Hi, 1. Domain suffix would usually have no direct relation with SEO jobs. 2. I think the basic factors for SEO would not be different with language. Of course, you need to target your keywords in Spanish and increasing main backlink from your targeted marketplace. all the best,
